This is the publisher’s page about my book. Besides my quote book, I have ties to two other books on that page. I forget if it was over the phone or email, but one day Garth — the editor, founder and owner of Breakaway Books — was bemoaning the lack of cover ideas for a new book called Bicycle Love, a compilation of stories about how people relate to their bikes, and I came up with idea of ripping off a pulp fiction romance novel. And the wonderful book of found poetry, Dancing on the Pedals, a collection of Phil Liggett’s bike-race commentary broken into verse, grew out of a story idea I had for Bicycling magazine. My friend Doug Donaldson, who for years rode a rattletrap Specialized Allez I gave him, compiled it.
