For some reason, with this book the publisher didn’t ask me to pelt my writing and riding friends, colleagues and acquaintances with requests for blurbs — those oh-how-I-love-him statements you see on the covers of books. But when I was working on the proposal for the book, my wise and industrious agent, David Black, asked Daniel Coyle if he’d mind giving me a snippet of praise to maybe help sell the project. Dan, who wrote Lance Armstrong’s War, came through, and his quote sits at the top of the back cover.
